After a successful junior career playing tennis, Ryan found his true calling when he was introduced to the world of coaching. Over twenty years later, Ryan has coached coast-to-coast and has been fortunate to lead tennis programming at some of the most recognizable clubs within the sport, most notably the International Tennis Hall of Fame where he spent six years, five of those as the Head Professional.

Throughout Ryan’s career he naturally gravitated toward growing the sport, instilling passion into players, and enhancing the players’ experience through community. Ryan has now stepped out of the club World to create PLAY Tennis Academy, a tennis management company that focuses on the creation of progressive ladder-based training opportunities over multiple facilities throughout the Country. Ryan believes that in order to make a real difference one must be willing to think and act on a massive scale. PLAY Tennis Academy is Ryan’s opportunity to populate tennis and pickle ball, and to instill passion of these sports at a national level.

Other achievements include certifications as USPTA Elite, PTR Performance, Cardio Tennis and CPR / AED. Ryan was also selected as both the 2018 USPTA Tennis professional of the Year and 2019 PTR Member of the Year for the state of Rhode Island.
